Things that should (and should not) be changed in the Final Fantasy 7 remake
Final Fantasy 7 has always been split between Tifa fans and Aerith fans. Either you like Aerith because she’s kind-hearted but also sort of goofy, or you like Tifa because she’s strong and cool. Final Fantasy 7 never quite puts the two in conflict, but it definitely pushes you to choose between them, your decision ultimately culminating in a date at the Golden Saucer.
Need to know something specific about Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Remake? The Aerith Gainsborough character page will reveal more about.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Developers Tried to Avoid Playing Favorites With Tifa and Aerith
The Gold Saucer is one of the premiere locations in Final Fantasy VII , and fans of the original are surely foaming at the mouth to see how the Remake expands on the beloved area after seeing how much love Wall Market was given. Filled with mini-games the players can indulge in, the Gold Saucer offers some of the best rewards in the entire game. Better yet, several of the mini-games are just genuinely fun to play. All this said, perhaps the cherry on top of the Gold Saucer is the date Cloud gets to go on near the end of Disc 1.
All four dates are extremely memorable, but two in particular might be worth more trouble than most players are willing to put in.

The purpose of this guide is to give you information about how the game chooses Cloud ‘s date the second time you get to the Gold Saucer. There are four characters that can go on the date: Aeris , Tifa , Yuffie and as odd as it may seem Barret. Each of these characters, throughout the course of disc 1, has an hidden parameter that we will call “affinity” with Cloud.
This parameter changes during the game for each character, and can go up and down depending on two factors: your responses when given multiple choices questions, and the composition of your party at certain stages of the game. When the date event occurs, the character who has the highest affinity with Cloud goes on the date with him. Each of the four characters has a starting affinity: Aeris has the highest, then Tifa, then Yuffie – finally, Barret has the lowest.
This means that if you don’t work to change your affinity levels, you will probably end up dating Aeris, or possibly Tifa. To ensure that you will have the date you want, this guide is divided into four chapters, each describing the general behaviour you must have, and important actions to take in order to date this character.
Dating Aeris is easy, as she has the highest starting affinity of all, by far. However, Tifa can be a threat to this date if you are not careful. General Guidelines When you have to create a party, always take Aeris and always leave Tifa aside except when you don’t have a choice, at the early stages of the game. This alone should make it so that Aeris is chosen, but it doesn’t hurt to overdo it, so read on.
When given the choice, always talk to or think about Aeris first. Whenever asked about your feelings towards Tifa and Aeris, always lean towards Aeris for example, when Aeris asks you if Tifa is your girlfriend, select the answer “No way!
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Who does Cloud love and end up with – Tifa or Aerith?
Those fans dividing themselves into devoted legions over their characters. But that position has also bred a particular corner of Final Fantasy fandom that positions itself in an endless debate over one specific question: Are you Team Tifa, or Team Aerith? Is this a competitive relationship? Its early story arcs set up the potential for romance between Cloud and either Tifa—his childhood friend who he clearly carries a lot of affection for—or Aerith, who finds herself drawn to Cloud due to familiarities with a former paramour of her own.
At one point, when visiting an entertainment mega-complex known as the Golden Saucer, players can choose which of the two he can take on a date he can, of course, also end up with fellow party members like the aforementioned Yuffie or, played as a joke back in , male ally Barrett.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn’t being subtle in telegraphing Aerith’s inevitable Check out our full list of video game release dates for
I’ve always been a Tifa girl. Maybe it’s the confidence, or the fact that she’s probably the most selfless person in the whole party, or that she always has Cloud’s back. Maybe it’s the fact that while everyone else hides behind a weapon, she enters battle with nothing but her fists. Even in crude polygonal shape, Tifa was always the girl for me; my unexpectedly sheepish date waiting for me at the Gold Saucer. The original Final Fantasy 7, while featuring a love triangle of sorts with Tifa and Aerith, always seems to urge you in one direction in particular when it comes to the main story: to Aerith.
Er, “Aeris. Both Tifa and Aerith get fairly equal footing in terms of relationship building, and the pair spend a good deal of time together in Cloud’s party. They even form a cute friendship, one that’ll inevitably have fans shipping for something more. Aerith is sassy, relentlessly mocking Cloud in an endearing way. She swears sometimes; she’s clumsy. While she remains joyful, she’s not annoyingly joyful like in Final Fantasy 7 proper.
Final Fantasy VII – Gold Saucer Date Guide
The two easiest candidates for Cloud’s affection are Aerith Gainsborough and Tifa Lockhart, as he has to interact with both characters on numerous occasions during the story. It’s also possible for Cloud to go on a date with either Barret Wallace or Yuffie Kisaragi, but these are much more difficult to see without exploiting glitches as the game heavily leans in the favor of Cloud pairing up with Aerith or Tifa.
The character with the most points will show up at Cloud’s room when the party visits the Gold Saucer for the second time for a date. At the start of the game, Aerith has fifty points, Tifa has thirty, Barret has ten, and Yuffie has zero. If Tifa is chosen as Don Coreno’s date, asking “You alright? When Marlene asks about Aerith, saying “Let’s hope so” is worth three points.
This character can be either Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie, and yes, even Barret. After you finish explaining what’s happened throughout the game to your characters, Cloud.
So yes, we’ll see a specific character die, and we won’t be able to do anything about it but wallow in grief over a fictional character. It’s a scene that old fans of the game will definitely know and might have been waiting for. If you show more affinity with Cloud’s childhood friend, Tifa, you’ll end up in the Golden Saucer with her. If you want a date with Aerith, you’ll have to treat her better than Tifa.
But, if you can’t choose and treat them both nicely or poorly , you’ll end up with Barret. Apparently, the most significant scenes that could impact Tifa’s arrival on the Golden Saucer are finishing all of Chapter 3’s side-quests and the “Discovery: Alone at Last” scene. Another big contributor is helping Tifa at the start of Chapter 10, which is basically the biggest scene where players would have to choose between Tifa and Aerith. In Chapter 2, choose to turn down the flower Aerith offers you’ll still get it and will see that scene with Tifa soon after.
The player can decide who takes Cloud Strife on a date during the party’s second plot-related visit to Gold Saucer. The night’s date is chosen based upon the player’s dialogue choices and actions throughout the game up to that point. Depending on the player’s choices, Cloud may go on a date with Aeris , Tifa , Yuffie only if she has been recruited , or even Barret. How each character is chosen is based upon a hidden value in the game’s code, which cannot be viewed without hacking.
